Agrivated Windows Mail User - 03 May 2008 02:44 GMT
New user of Windows vista and already hating it.  I used to be able to
receive emails - just got the computer a week ago and when I first set
everything up I was able to receive me emails.  Now, I am assuming it is due
to an update or a firewall overprotection or a nortons overprotection,
something has changed and now, although I can get to the point of loggin in
to my email server (it shows it is connected and the number of emails it wil
downloading) I get the dreaded time out error.  I can send just fine.  Just
can't receive.  I am so agrivated after spending, oh, about 3 dyas now
looking at posts and forums to no avail.  I can go to my work computer and
get my emails fine so it is just on this system when all my info is exactly
the same.

I have turned off the firewalls, even turned off Nortons to no avail.

WHAT AM I MISSING!!!  Arrggg...

You may have a currupted message. Try accessing your email from a free
webmail clieint such as http://mail2web.com. You may be able to delete the
offending email.

The solution depends on what the exact error message is, which
you have not disclosed.

Windows Mail problems with Norton Antivirus are seldom resolved by
disabling the antivirus. It must be uninstalled, and then followed up
by running Norton's special removal tool:
