Windows Live Hotmail doesn't send to website contacts

When I go to websites, sometimes they have an email address (contact address)
that I need to send an email to. XP would not allow me to use such a function
with Hotmail because Outlook would pop up and say "no." This I understand
because Hotmail is not allowed with Outlook.

Now, that I've switched to Vista and Windows Live, I click on a website's
contact email address and instead of Outlook popping out I get a Windows Live
form which allows me to write an email to that website's contact address.
When I send the email (I have a Hotmail address) I do not get any errors and
Windows Live gives me no indication that I have made an error. Yet, when I go
to my Hotmail address, there is no indication that I had sent an email to the
mentioned website's contact address. So, what gives? Can I use Hotmail as my
email address when using Windows Live to send email to a website's contact
address? Or do I just go back to copying the website's contact email address
and pasting it into my Hotmail's address form like I did with XP, and now
Vista?

Using which one of the several Windows Live programs? If it's Windows Live
Mail, you're likely to get a better answer in newsgroup:

microsoft.public.windows.live.mail.desktop

No need to copy and paste anything. To make Hotmail your default
email service in Vista, do this:

This is was the problem that I had with Windows Live (Vista):

1) clicked on a website's "contact" link and Sign-In Windows Live ID popped
up on the screen. I entered my hotmail password and then...
2) New message window popped up. I entered my message and sent it...but...
3) Message would never arrive to destination.

Fix: (I hope)
1) I went to IE-Tools-Options-Privacy-Advanced-and chose Override cookies...
2) It works: now when I use Sign-in Windows Live ID and New Message window
to send to a website's "contact" link, Windows Live ID informs me that it has
sent the message and informs me of the server that is being used. Alos, the
messages ar ein my Hotmail's Send box, too. Also, the first time it worked
Windows Live alos sent 4 messages from last weeks that were sitting in the
server's mail last week. So far, I've tried it 5 times this morning and it's
working.

I hope that tweaking the IE cookies was the solution.

Thanks Gary for your suggestions. I didn't use the .exe fix that you linked
me to because I was too nervous to download the .exe file. But thanks for the
link to that website. The website looks very useful for the future.
