not able to send emails thru microsoft mail

everytime i send emails thru microsoft i get that smtp is not a valid server,
i use yahoo.com, and  my account i have is yahoo.com. Yahoo states that smtp
is a conection which confuses me, can you help, what server do i need?

My isp is att,who used to be sbc, does this help with info about my problem

For AT&T or for the servers Yahoo runs for AT&T, see here:

Then you can't use an email client to download Yahoo mail by POP.

The OP is mistaken. That email service is paid for as part of his AT&T
Internet service.
