Tried sending meeting requests from Windows calendar on my home PC to my
work PC (Windows XP, Outlook 2007) in order to merge my schedules, and
the request simply comes with a small attachment. When the attachment is
opened, it's just a blank email message.
Is there not a way to send meeting requests from Windows Calendar to MS
Outlook 2007?

AFAIK, Outlook only works with the Outlook Calendar.

Gary's correct, Windows Calendar and Outlook's Calendar are entirely
separate entities, they do not talk to each other, and there are currently
no sync tools for them. Running Outlook on your home PC would make short
work of the issue.
