When there are problems with the contacts, you often need to start Windows
Mail, then click Tools, then Windows Contacts, then right click in the empty
space under the right end of the toolbar in the Contacts window, then click
on
Customize This Folder then the triangle after the folder type, then
Contacts,
then Apply, then OK, then close the Contacts window.
