Contacts in Mail don't automatically come up

In Windows Vista Email when I open Ceate New and I  go to the TO line  and
type in a name shouldn't it automatically display the contact information if
it's stored in my Contact List?

That is known as the auto-complete function. It doesn't work very well in
Windows Mail. It only remembers the last 29 addresses you've sent to.
If you click on 'To:' it will bring up the entire contacts list.

Auto-complete works well in Windows Live Mail:
