Hello,

Here's the error message I am receiving:

The host 'smtp.gmail.net.om' could not be found. Please verify that you have
entered the server name correctly.
Subject 'Bose Quiet Comfort 2 Headphones - Brand New - $225 (Parker, CO)',
Account: 'Gmail', Server: 'smtp.gmail.net.om', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25,
Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 11001, Error Number: 0x800CCC0D

First of all, I have Vista Premium Home and am currently using Windows Mail.
I have recently downloaded Windows Live Mail because I have Norton - should
I set Windows Live Mail as my default email program (I also have active Gmail
and Hotmail accounts that need to be properly put into Window Mail or Windows
Live Mail)?

I need to know what to put in the blanks when I go to Tools, Accounts, then
select the proper account, then hit Properties and then hit the Servers tab.
For the Gmail (default) I have:

My incoming mail server is a 'IMAP' server
Incoming mail (IMAP) : imap.gmail.com
Outgoing mail (SMTP) : smtp.gmail.com

and for Hotmail account I have:

My incoming mail server is a 'POP3' server
Incoming mail (POP3) : pop3.hotmail.com
Outgoing mail (SMTP) : smtp.hotmail.com

Also, I don't have any one specific Internet Service Provider.  I go to
places where I can get the Internet signal free, 'hotzones'.

Thanks for your time.  I appreciate it.

Where did you get the server name smtp.gmail.net.om?
It's not correct. Did you really want to use Gmail's IMAP option
rather than POP? If so, follow these directions:

Hotmail does not have POP access unless you pay extra for
Hotmail Plus. However, you can upgrade your Windows Mail to
Windows Live Mail, which does accommodate free Hotmail accounts
as well as POP and IMAP accounts:

If you are using a wireless connection, you often need to avoid using
any connection method that uses port 25.  Connections to this port
are often blocked if they cross from one internet provider's equipment
to another's before they reach the server.  This is intended to cause
problems for spammers, but often causes problems for others as well.
Just trying all the ports is a very slow way to find a better one, though,
since there are about 65,000 ports available and only a few are likely
to accept outgoing mail.
