In windows mail, my email messages get deleted from my inbox when switching
folders or exiting and entering windows mail. I'm on Vista. My options look
good.

Do you have any Message Rules setup?  If so, you may have inadvertently set
them in a way you did not expect.  If you did not setup any Message Rules, I
would check them anyway to to make sure.

While in the Inbox go to View | Current View and make sure "Show all
