'incoming.verizon.net', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Error

Are you running an AntiVirus product that scans your email?

Thank you for your response - I had already stopped the antivirus software
when this happend the first time - this is why I said your response did not
help me

Which antivirus program?  For some of them, just stopping them seldom
helps.
