Which folder are those messages that lock it up in?

Also, we need more detail on what you mean by locking up the program.

If you get any error messages, right click on them and copy the entire
error messages to your next message.

Many problems in Windows Mail are due to interference from antivirus
programs, so also tell us what if any antivirus programs you have, and
whether you have ever had a Norton or McAfee antivirus program on
that computer.

This is my 78 year old Uncle's computer and he isn't sure what to tell me
over the phone!!!!
Apparently it is just one person's email that locks up his inbox.
A co-worker from Colorado.
Other employees with the same provider don't lock him up.
Once he clicks on it, it doesn't want to connect anymore.
He is using something called ...Trend or Trent anti-virus and has never had
Norton or McAfee installed on this Vista SP-1 loaded laptop.
No error messages....

Trend Micro antivirus is not compatible with Windows Mail.
It should be uninstalled and replaced with a more compatible
antivirus. Acceptable free ones are:
AVG free edition:
http://free.grisoft.com/doc/5390/us/frt/0?prd=aff
or
Avast free edition:
http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html

With either of those, during the install phase you must select custom
install, and then deselect the email scanning option.

Another option is to upgrade Windows Mail to Windows Live
Mail. The latter is not so prone to bad effects from antivirus
programs.

I'll have him check out Live Mail too.
