Those files should be in the store folder directory. For the exact location,
in Windows Mail go to Tools, Options, Advanced, Maintenance, Store Folder.

yeah you would think so but theyre not. they WERE in outlook express, and
amazingly there is NOTHING in the MS documentation

Strange. I just enabled Mail logging, and the file Pop3.log appeared in
C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Mail.
Make sure your Folder Options are set to show hidden files.
