Windows Forum / Windows Vista / Mail / May 2008can't send messages but can receive
I have just set up my windows acct on my laptop. I can receive but cannot send emails...I have optonline as my ISP. I have checked their outgoing server. It is smtp.mail.optonline.net. Yiou must register your Outlook software or it will not send any emails. If it doesn't work, it probably gives you an error message when you try. By the way, I just tried the links you have posted, and they both go to Outlook Express help sites. I thought this is the Windows Mail Group. And you probably have to be connected to the Optimum network (at home, not out somewhere else) in order to send email.
