With Windows Mail, is there any way to remove an attachment to an e-mail
message that you have received? There are a number of cases where I would
like to save a  message and its distribution list but not its attachments.

Thanks.

Not that I know of. You'd have to forward that email to yourself
without the attachment.

There is one "remove" option within the program that is accessible by opening
the message (by double-click), then right-clicking the attachment itself...

Unfortunately, this option is "greyed" and not enabled...

So there must be a way, but I'm still waiting to see if someone comes up
with the solution...

Good luck

Whilst OEX is a solution for removing attachments, it uses aa non-integrated
user interface, unfortunely making it "non-user friendly".

There is a "greyed out" option in the menu that pops up when the email is
opened and you right-click on the attachment that indicates "Remove
Attachment". Needless to say, it does not work.

The most logical solution is for Microsoft to enable this option, which
should not be that difficult, unless there is an ulterior motive for them not
to do so.

What is the reponse from Microsost on this ?

Removing attachments is a considerable space saver.

OEX is not a Microsoft program.
