Hi,
I encoded some video off my Sony DV camcorder using Vista Windows Movie
maker. The video plays on Vista but when I copied it to an XP system it
didn't play presumably because its using a new codec. Will this codec be
available for XP / WMP10?

I also noticed that about 1 hour of video - which encoded to around 1 GB on
XP, encoded to 1.6 GB on Vista. It seems at least in the default settings
Vista Movie Maker is using a much less compact (higher fidelity?) encoding.

I just rendered a set of test files with each option in Vista (build 5472),
and they all play fine in XP...

Hi thanks for trying that. I should have pointed out that I was running a
slightly newer build than that which probably isn't publicly available (5480).
