DVD maker does not work for me at all. After adding a file and pressing the
continue button the program shuts down. The solution as given by Microsoft is
the following:

I checked all my devices and none of them shows an Indeo or Intel device
driver. Am I missing something here?? Has anyone an idea what to do with this
answer??

I have the same problem and cannot find a fix anywhere. I'm hoping that
maybe someone here could help.

Guys... to easy... just go into REGEDIT
search for the INDEO keyword, and delete every entry that refers to
INDEO AUDIO.
Yeah i know that this take some times, becouse you will need to use the
F3 key so many times... but... it's working for me now...
I was with my new laptop for 6 months with this problem... and until
now I didnt used yet the Windows Vista Recording softwares, but now
everything seems to work so fine...
so... this is the key... if someone have an another way to do that
please let me know...
Thanks Guy, I hope that i could help some of you...
Bye

Yeah this is what I did, just go to run/search type REGEDIT, then find Indeo,
delete everything that is the Indeo product, restart your computer and the
DVD Maker should work now.

That's kind of a really extremely horrible idea in that you'll just orphan
lots of interesting CLSID registrations that could later bite you in the
posterior. Unregistering the Ligos Intel Audio Codec here would be the much
more practical, efficient, and stable option here. =)

I responded to this earlier, but clearly that happened during my dreams... ?
iac25_32.ax is on your system. Please unregister that - opening cmd.exe *as
an administrator* and running:
regsvr32 /u iac25_32.ax
will fix you up.
If you could please please detail what codec packs you installed, I'd
*really* appreciate it. I would very much like to know who is causing this
badness. If they stop doing that, people will stop crashing this way. =D

I for supplementary codecs downloaded "the codecs 5.0" from
http://www.theorica.net/codecs.htm and the k-lite mega codec pack from
http://www.codecguide.com/download_mega.htm if you think it will help but I
had both of them on my computer before I recently had to restore it to the
dell factory settings and it worked fine then.

Thanks, that's very helpful.
"The Codecs" is pretty extremely nasty. I expect you to crash regularly if
that's on your system. I sent them a polite mail asking them to either fix
themselves or take themselves off line.
K-Lite Mega Codec Pack is what does this particular badness. They also
randomly stomp on WMP's file association icon for AVI(?) but that's just
annoyingly bad as opposed to the Indeo Audio Codec issue, which is what's
really a bad plan.
Note that K-Lite is a collection of pirated software. You got what you paid
for. =\

What third party codec pack did you install? I would LOVE to know who
registered this. Please please please do me the courtesy of disclosing who
the heck did this badness to your system so I can badger them to stop doing
that.
Run
regsvr32 /u iac25_32.ax
from a cmd.exe prompt *that has administrative privileges*.
Could you please clarify what exact fault bucket--
http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html#bucket
you're getting here? I will try to get them to clarify that very unhelpful
message. My apologies: codecs can be a rough area.

Not sure which one it could be. Maybe K-Lite codec package. Or NTI CD &
DVD-Maker which was preinstalled when I got this system.

Thanks, I checked that out and did not see anything interesting there at
this time.
Thank you very much for providing that information, though. When that
information does point out interesting tidbits, it's extremely useful.

Indeo is not a device, it's a codec. Indeo audio codec is iac25_32.ax on
your system, if I recall correctly.
I"m sure Ligos would love to know about this so that they can sell you a
working version. =D
It's blowing up in a "Does filter support MPEG2" check. Hopefully that's
easy for them to fix.

Hello everybody,
Some time ago I had a problem with Moviemaker trying to change the audio
track of a video file. The problem was that the published movie had a green
strip filling the bottom half of the video. The solution that i finally found
somewhere in the web was to open the menu tools, options, compatibility, and
disableling the Xvidmpeg4 checkbox (or some another if necessary). Now That I
had this new problem with the DMP I remember that and tried the same trick
successfully! (the checkbox was marked again because sometime ago i had to
restore my pc to the factory settings). I hope this to be usefull. Good luck!

I tried to search for the registry entry and came up with nothing, so I
tried to unregister the dll... that worked.
Pasting this into a command prompt enabled DVD maker, and I didn't have
to restart:
regsvr32 /u iac25_32.ax
