DVD's Won't Run

I've just bought a new laptop with Vista Business as its OS.  I can't get my
DVD's to play.  By default I've set up Media Player.  Vists connects
automatically to a Media Centre which offers several normal options for what
you want such as play CD, Video, DVD etc.  However when I insert a DVD I get
a message to the effect that it can't be played because the DVD Area Code is
wrong.  There is an option with a drop down menu to change the area code
which I've done for Western Europe - Area Code 2.

Nonetheless the little devil still won't play.  Does anyone have any ideas
please on what's wrong?

No guarantees but maybe the following
freeware would be worth a try:

AVS DVD Player
