Sharing The drives

I have tried to share my drives on my network, but everytime i go to access
it, it wants a password and user name, which I have never put in , but will
not let me have access to it from any laptops or pc

Vista requires a username and password unless you use "simple file sharing"
(similar to file sharing in XP). This article explains:

If you want to share the whole drive, you have to make ‘Everyone’ appear in
the Security Tab, have a look here
