Hello everyone,
Under "Choose a different restore point" window, there is this entry -
System: Scheduled Checkpoint. I'd like to understand more about it.
Thank you.

Hi,

There are three manners of initiating restore points:

1) User
2) Update
3) Automatic

The third is the type you are looking at, and these are points created daily
by the task scheduler as part of Vista's routine maintenance. The second one
are points created prior to the installation of an update from the Windows
Update site. The first are points that you yourself have chosen to create.

Thank you for your reply. "Routine maintenance" is what I want to
understand more about.
