You can have it download the messages (which can take quite a while), just
the new ones (since a certain date, or last checked), or just the headers
(subjects). This makes it easier for when you want to work offline.

Thanks for the reply Dustin. It's "synchronize" that threw me. Would make
more sense at least to me if it said something message settings or download
message setting or something similar.
