personalization problem

are the visual settings on the 32-bit ver the same on the 64-bit ver. i have
the 32-bit ver. and my friend has the 64-bit ver. and he's able to see the
preview window on the task bar from an open window and he's able to choose
the transparency of his windows and the different colors. im not able to do
any of that is there a way to do it on the 32-bit or is this a way of
microsoft to torment those without and AMD processor.

You have to have Aero functioning properly before you get the pretty stuff.
I thiiiink that Aero only turns on when you ahve a performance rating of 3+
?? (feel free to confirm/refute)

The Aero effects aren't completely based on your performance rating.

You should be able to the new effects if you have at least 512 MB RAM and a
recent video card (one that supports Pixel Shaders 2.0 and has at least 128
MB video memory).

So, it is not based on your processor, but your video card :)
