I am pretty surprised that no alternative has shown up so far regarding temp
drivers for HP scanners... Not even a generic... Does anyone know anything
about that?

We are all waiting with bated breath on the manufacturers to write drivers
for their respective products.  Some are even on pins and needles.
Microsoft is only able to include drivers that they have received from the
hardware companies.

Perhaps HP can at least provide you with a timetable as to when they expect
drivers to be available to you.

Hi,
When Beta 2 came out; I did contact HP;several times.
When I finally received a response; it was;basically this.
"Hewlett Packard is not supporting Vista;at this time.
When Vista is released to market;we will then have support;including
driver's; for Vista.
Thank-You."
That's the "official" HP timetable; as provided to me through HP
themselves
Good luck.

Jeff
P.S. Got me so upset; I gave my printer to my niece; and went out and bought
an Epson R210-which does have Vista compatible drivers.
Been printing for awhile now.

HP has not done much lately to please me - I bought an Epson scanner after
years of buying on HP Products.

I have found the WinXP-64bit basic WDM driver (on the HP Scanjet CD) gives
me some functionality on my 4370 under Vista Ultimate 64bit RC1. Dunno about
other models but may be worth a try!
