I get this message while trying to 'Find Printer' in Word 2007.  Cant install
Epson Stylus 830U printer.  Been on Epsom help - say it should be compatible.
Tried discs to install, just get 'error printing', so don't think the
computer talks to the printer.  Toshiba messageboard suggested I just plug it
in.  When I go to 'Find Printer' the Active domain message is all I get.  I
don't get the split screen I used to get on XP.

Plain english please - I don't understand computer-speak.

Thanks.

The disks probably won't help, they were written before Vista existed.
Since you already tried to install them, they may have messed up your
system.  Use System Restore to return to the point BEFORE you installed the
disks.

It always helps us if you tell us WHERE you come from, the 830U is a UK only
model.  The drivers for this unit are included in Vista, all you should have
to do is connect the printer via your USB cable to your Vista PC and it
should go ahead and install the drivers for you.

Sorry, Yes I am in the UK.  Have just tried system restore - don't think I
can go back far enough though.  I restored to the earliest point I could,
plugged in the Epson printer and got exactly the same response.  Am guessing
my only option is to completely start again?  Would prefer not, but will if I
have to.  Tried sending error report in 'problems and solutions'.  No
solution was found.
