Have you got a microfilter - that connects a DSL line to a box and a phone
into the box and then the box into the actual phone line? We have one... we
can fax :o)

It is a simple. The upper frequencies are stopped from the phone jack.
The filter is enclosed in a small plastic (usually) housing which has a
female jack on one side and a wire "pigtail" with a male plug on the
other. In use, it is plugged into the phone jack and the phone plugged
into it.
