I'm getting an error during the installation of a printer driver.
C:\Windows\system32\spoolsv.exe
Function Address 0x1000173f caused a protection fault (exception code
0xC0000005) Some or all property page(s) may not be displayed.
I've tried reinstalling the printer driver multiple times and get the same
error. I have also tried restarting the printer spool service and rebooting
the pc but nothing seems to remedy the issue.
When was that PC last checked for malware?

Sorry I should have explained that the pc is running vista business. No
malware on the pc--basically fresh install.

I seem to have the same issues as (Trouble using "properties" option when
printing). Today i seem to be getting a different error of 0x166173f (it
seems to be short 1 character) --Guessing it has something to do with hp
laser printers and vista.

I Wacked the entire spool directory and seems to have fixed it

What exactly did you do cause I'm having the same problem? I'm getting the
following 'C:\WINDOWS\system32\spoolsv.exe' error message every time I try to
print anything, or when I reboot computer: "Function address 0x40423fa caused
a protection fault. (exception code 0xc0000096) Some or all property page(s)
may not be displayed." Everything had been working fine till a few days ago
when this started happening -- I've tried everything I know and can't figure
out what's causing this error message!?
