I want to use my computer, running 64-bit Ultimate, to send and receive
faxes. I've looked at many (too many) post in this forum trying to
decipher a preferred modem to purchase for this task.  The best I can
gather from the posts are to make certain the modem in on the Vista
Hardware Compatibility List (always a good idea).

If I look at Network Modems in HCL, the best I see are multiple
products that "Works with Windows Vista", but are not Certified.

So here are my questions:

- What fax modems are you using?  And would you recommend this modem?
- Any issues with your modem working in a Vista environment?

Any help is appreciated!

The HCL is of limited use when it comes to choosing a fax modem I'm afraid.

If this is an important installation then the following lab report may
be of interest to you;

Avoid all 'software' modems and if you are on a tight budget then buy
yourself something based on the Agere Venus chipset.... it isn't perfect
but with some effort you'll get a reasonable solution.

Thanks for the information Andrew! Go Beavs!

I'll look into the Agere Venus solutions.

Anyone else?
