After an update installed on 4/17, I get an error when I try printing with my
Canon Inkjet 750.

Initially, I get a message that the Printer is not found (I've already
checked to make sure the printer is on, USB connections are made, etc).

The first thing I do is to make change Printer properties so that it is
Online.

The printer status changes to Ready.

When I try again to print, a few seconds go by and I get the message "Failed
to print).

I have the most recent drivers installed from Canon's support site.
I've rebooted.
I've deleted the printer and reinstalled it.

I have not uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers yet but that will be my
next step unless someone has an alternative suggestion.

Anyone know how to fix this problem?

Thanks very much.

The first thing I'd do is uninstall and reinstall.

I'm not sure what came down to your PC on 4/17 but Microsoft Updates are
usually released on the 2nd Tuesday of every month, so it would have been
4/15 that they arrived.  Are you sure it was a Microsoft Update that you
got?

I deleted the Canon printer, unplugged the USB and opened the Device Driver
and under Printers, deleted the Canon driver.

Then I restarted the computer and reconnected the printer via USB.
Computer found the printer and installed the software.

The printer is working again.

I suspect deleting the driver from the Print driver did the trick.

Uninstalling and reinstalling probably would have been simpler but at this
point, I'm just glad the printer is working again.

Thanks,
Judy
