I don't seem to be able to find the fax printer, on XP it installed
automatically when it found the fax modem. Where is it?

Depending on your version, it is on the Start Menu.

Home Premium.

Where on the Start Menu? I can't find it there, or in Help.

AFAIK, Windows Fax and Scan is available only in Business and Ultimate.

Did you read the features each version had before selecting your version?
It's gotten a lot more complicated than it used to.

You'll have to pay MS more $$ to do an step-up upgrade to Ultimate.  Better
start putting in some overtime @ work! (and let your kids know that you won't
be around as much for a while...)  :)

Out of interest, and ignoring any licence issues, is it possible to
copy the faxing software from Ultimate to Home Premium?

Good question.  I dunno.  The only Vista machine I have available is my own
which has Ultimate on it...

On a more serious note (compared to my previous sarcastic reply), I bet
there are inexpensive 3rd party (or even shareware) programs out there that
have the same functionality.  Hopefully you can find something that will be
cheaper than MS' step-up charge...

Good luck!  Al

This is really a shame. What do they think at MS? As if only businesses
would send faxes and scan documents. They really need to think better
next time they release an OS. This is one more reason to keep XP.
