OK...

Was I the only one left using eTrust EZ Antivirus?  The double wammy on
having to authorize it on every reboot was kind of a pain.  Avast! has more
options and none of the hassles.  Am I missing something here?

I've got Vista up and running on its own box, and I am getting ready to go
online with this box for the first time.  I had been wondering what sort of
protection I could obtain before going online for that first time (beyond
Windows Defender, that is.)  If I understand the posts here, I can use Avast!
4.7 as my only protection for that first-time-ever connection to the 'Net.
Correct?

Avast has kept my 7 computers (can't believe I have 7 now) virus free for
years and for me I trust them.  I installed it on my Vista box and it's still
in the virus hunting and elimination business just the same.  eTrust simply
makes no sense to me and I don't care to even understand it.  Avast works!

I used AVG and did not work out then tried avast 4.7...Works like a dream...

Is the Avast 4.7 ' just as good as the Pro version?...Free Edition'

Yes!!  is as good as the pro version, the only two things you don't get in
the home version
is PUSH IAV and the Advanced interface.
Same Engine, same virus database.

Loved Avast and it worked well until the latest build.

I am just going to wait until they come out with a new version or fix for
it. It was too good to used anything else available. I have been a long time
Zone alarm user, and loved it, but until they make one for Vista, Avast is a
blast!
