Hello,

I am not sure if this is the right group to post this but I think it relates
to new security features so posting here anyway.

When I connect to remote session using RDP and try to write music tracks to
cd drive in vista computer, media player does not see any CD writers (I have
two) and can't burn tracks remotely.

I have been burning CDs in XP and 2003 remotely so I am not sure if this is
new security setting preventing burn remotly thru RDP? Is there a way I can
get this working?

Thanks for all help.

Try launching your RDP like this: Start -> Run -> mstsc /v:IP_address
/console

Unfortunately that does not help either. I believe this is a change in RDP
in vista.

Anyone can explain from MS?

Thanks,
Bhargav

Hi,

Just saw your post when I was searching for a resolution to the very
same problem. I managed to enable remote access to writing CDs and DVDs
by doing the following:

- Open a command prompt and run gpedit
- Navigate in the resulting window to Computer Configuration >
Administrative Templates > System > Removable Storage Access
- In there you will find a setting called "All Removable Storage:
Allow direct access in remote sessions". Enable this setting.
 Hope this helps.

Best Regards
