Everytime I turn my laptop on or log back into it the windows firewall is
turned off... Is there anyway to keep it on so I don't have to manually turn
it on all the time?

When did you find that out? How long ago? Do you remember when was the
last time the firewall was on normally? If it's less than 10-14 days
ago, do a system restore picking the date firewall was working properly
as your restore point. Hopefully that's all you have to do. If problem
reoccurs, let us know.

Check for what programs run at startup. My guess is that one of them is
turning it off....

You should find out how to reset the Vista FW. The commands you would
issue to reset the XP FW wil apply to the Vista FW -- use Google.

Let me guess. You had installed SP1, and this problem started
afterwards.
