While requesting a new Freemail (personal e-mail) certificate from Thawte,
the cerificate request procedure does not come to completion. It stalls on
step "[ generate certificate public key ]".There is an empty dropdown list
under the message "Please choose the CSP you wish to use from the list
below:" and the cerificate enrollment process cannot be continued.
Do I need to install a CSP, or enable a service?

All my CSP is present on my system. But i am unable to get CSP list on
Thawte cert generating Application.
Did you get any solution..?
I wonder there should be some Internet Explorer Security option.,..? Can

The Web page is probably using the xenroll certificate control which has
been depracated for Vista and replaced with the certenroll control
You should contact Thawte regarding the problem, as they will have to
provide a Vista-compatible registration page.

I found if you use a Windows XP/2000 machine or a Mac with Firefox, you
can request a cert, fetch it and import it into that machine, then
export/backup and copy to Vista. I was able to successfully import it
into Internet Explorer and Firefox and Outlook 2007 to sign emails this
way. It is a pain until they upgrade to CertEnroll but works as a
temporary solution!
On another note, CAcert.org support Vista but you have to import their
root certs so not as nice as Thawte is.
