My local hard drive is on the fritz and in danger of failing. I'm running vista 64 home premium on it. Ideally, I'd like to get a new internal, and load the OS on to that. Boot from that, verify, then change the boot menu from there. I don't have the original windows XP disc, but I do have the vista upgrade cd. I was thinking maybe a backup/restore to the new hard drive, but maybe that won't work or there's a better way of doing this. If so then you want a disk cloning application such as Ghost, Acronis TrueImage or similar. This will mirror the data on the drive exactly, and expand the filesystem to allow use of any additional capacity on the new drive. Multi-posting questions is NOT appreciated.
