I had a power failure during the initial setup of a new computer (Hewlett
Packard).  Now I just get continuous message popping up during restart  that
Vista closed unexpectedly and must restart...happens on every restart.  Did
not receive a disc with the OS in the computer package and cannot even find
out what is the serial number of the OS system.  Is there anyway to remedy
this without returning (by mail order of course) the system?

Help appreciated.

Ring HP and ask them if they can send you recovery disk.

Also, at startup, there should be a note at the bottom saying to hit
F(whatever number) to do a recovery install.

Product Key will be on the tower, or bottom if a laptop.
