How to remove Windows Media player or overwrite/repair the install

You can not overwrite or remove Windows Media Player from Vista.
It is part of the operating system Package, except in the EU.

You don't give much information, but you might try running sfc /scannow

I'm having the same problem, i can't find the uninstaller even trying an
uninstaller software...so i guess mick murphy is right...and the wmp 11
download is in vain for me

Same issue, mediaplayer makes my iexplorer and firefox crash when trying
to view online vids. sfc /scannow returns zero errors, problem remains
unsolved tho :(
