Hi all,
I have Windows vista hime premium ,I am not able to run a program given by
my srock broker named Odindiet version 7.9.1.2.
(It works fine on Windows XP.)
I tried every possible program compatibilty settings to run this program but
it dosen't works.
Every time I run this it gives the same error that is "Failed to load the
function:_VersionTypeFromClient@4".
I talked to my broker's it department we are not going to release this
software for vista in another 6 months.
So please help me to run this program in Vista if its possible.

that is, right-click on the shortcut, then go to Compatibility tab, and then
choose the compatibility mode..

If you tried to run the program in Compatibility Mode and it failed,
then you will not be able to natively run the program in Windows Vista.
End of story.
Options:
1. Go back to XP or use an older machine running XP if you don't want to
downgrade the machine you are currently using.
2. Get Virtual PC 2007 or VMWare (if their Vista version is out yet) and
create a virtual machine running XP with Vista as the host. Not meaning
to hurt your feelings but based on your post, you would probably need a
tech to set this up for you.
3. Dual-boot with XP. Use a third-party boot manager to deal with the
issue of XP removing Vista's System Restore Points.

Have you contacted the software author for an update to run it on Vista?

Thankyou all for replying
I tried comapatibility mode(I treid each every possible settings) but id
doesn't.
I even talked my program author but they have not yet released a patch of
vista.
I also tried virtual machine 2007 but its tto slow to handle even after
giving half of sytem memory.(Personally i dont like it).
Is there is any other way to run this program in vista becoause i don't have
an extra copy of Windows XP.

You do need a lot of RAM for virtualization. From what you're saying, it
sounds like you're going to need to wait until the program author writes
an update. You could always go back to XP. It just depends on how
important the program is to you.

Dear Tinu,
I've already replied you a best & easy solution. You can check that.
If not received, I send you another copy of same steps...
Do the following to Run ODIN Diet in Vista (Home, Business, Ultimate):
1. Go to *Control Panel*
2. Type *'UAC*' in search box there
3. Look for *'User Account Control' *after search
4. Disable it by *uncheck*ing the box and click *Apply or OK*
5. *Restart* your PC
6. *Install and run Diet*
---------------------------------
Good Luck,
Enjoy your trading...
from, Alex (Patna, Bihar)
