I have newly bought a computer with loaded windows vista home premium
which worked fine up until it was put into sleep mode. When restarted
after sleep mode "windows resume loader" appears on black screen and the
keyboard does not respond. After switching the computer on and off
quickly I can get into the bios where the keyboard does respond but if
try going back to boot from hard drive again it returns to "windows
resume loader" and inactive keyboard. Can anyone suggest anything else?

Go to Advance Power Settings.

Set hard drive to turn off a minute or 2 before sleep.

Set Hybrid and Hibernate modes to "Never"

Under USB settings select "Disable"

Under Multimedia select "Allow ....."

Thanks Bob for your suggestion. Unfortunately my BIOS is Phoenix -
AwardBios which doesn't have the changable settings that you describe. I
have tried changing it a little similar to your suggestions but no joy
yet.

Simon,
My suggestion did not include making any changes via your BIOS.
The suggested changes are made through the Control Panel.

I also have a computer with Vista which is stuck on the black screen
that says, "Windows Resume Loader.  The last attempt to resume the
system from its previous location failed.  Attempt to resume again? (Use
the arrow key to highlight your choice.)"  I am unable to get the
keyboard to do anything.  The only thing I can do is to turn it off and
on, and when I push the escape key while the computer is loading it
comes up with a gray-blue screen asking to resume, but once again I
cannot get the keyboard to do anything.

HELP!  Any suggestions?

Hi there. My PC has just done the same thing as yours. I am stuck on
Windows Resume Loader. May I ask how you sorted it out? Many thanks.
