For no apparent reason the dialog box with the green Progress Bar that
appears when you delete a file or rename it won't shut down. If I delete a
small file the Progress Bar would normally only appear for a brief moment
before completing the task. Now however it will not go away. If I try to
delete it, it just freezes up and the only way I can get rid of it is to open
the Windows Task Bar and click End Task.
After closing it like this I find that the file has been deleted or renamed
as I desired.

I don't know whether the two faults are related but I have recently had
problems with Windows Mail which will only open once. Any further attempts to
open it fail to work, the only answer being to log off and log on in which
case it will again work just the once again.

This is all becoming very frustrating, is there anybody who can help please.

Ditto.  Also open and save dialogs freeze on certain folders (e.g.
Documents) for no reason that I can see.

And if I click on a mailto: link, Windows Mail locks up.

Does anyone know why?  My cimputer didn't do this when I first got it.
i'd hate to start over.
