Whatever happened to the file transfer program Alohabob?
Microsoft bought the company a few years back and there were
reports it was going to be integrated into Vista. I cannot find it
anywhere on my Vista system. Was it ever implemented? If not,
it certainly should have been. Anyone wishing to transfer files from
a previous version of Windows would find it most useful.

Alohabob was pre-XP... where you been?
Click the "Start" orb.
Click All Programs.
Click Accessories.
Click System Tools.
Look for "Windows Easy Transfer"

I thought it was a singularly useless piece of crap and that MS
bought them to stop them from embarassing themselves any further.

Well, it's replacement 'Windows easy transfer' is no better. I connected
my two computers over a router and asked for a transfer of my programs
and data. The program started to search for files allowable to be
transfered
and after about 15 minutes, came back with this uninformative message that
there was an error and the process had to be canceled. No explanation of
what the error was, or how to fix it. What a waste of time!
