I am running Vista Ultimate. Just installed SP1. Just installed Kaspersky.
I have just downloaded and installed PerfectDisk. When running PerfectDisk,
the defrag map shopws many files that are ignored and will not move. In a
lengthy discussion with PD tech support we turned of and tried to clear the
restore point so that there would be no excluded files in the defrag. We
tried everything to "release" the retore files. Vista showed that when we
unticked the C drive the drive dshowed it had no resore point, but in fact it
still had. For some reason we can't clear this. We have looked at processes
running and there appear to be no other programs running with restore
abilities (unless Kaspersky has). Any ideas on how to really turn off and
clean the restore point.

Hi! Cliff
one time I clean the restore point by Windows Vista
this is the way: click in start bottom ( low and left screen) -> click all
program -> click accessory -> click system tool -> click clean the disc ->
open this program and you clean the disc. If you have many restore point in
your program restore of windows vista. This program clean all point.
Now your program Kaspersky have setting up, check the property. Have one box
with mark, delete this mark.
You have reason when you defrag the disc no have restore point and no
excluded files. Check your program Kaspersky maybe this program clean the
disc and so this program use restore point because have change in your disc
and any problem you can return to restore point. You must check the setting
up this program Kaspersky. I has this program in my PC but I delete it. Now
I use another program.
