I don't know about anybody else, this made my day:

This bit of reality or how the typical citizen of the world feels
about the evil empire called Microsoft, brought to by the letter G as
in greed.

If you dislike Microsoft so much why do you hang around the vista group?  Oh
yea, to be a complete pest and make yourself look like the dolt you really
are.  Just another clown looking for attention.  You might be a grown up,
but your actions make you look like a 12 year old.

Did you read the article that explains how Microsh¡t monopolized the
Hungarian market?

Can't speak for others, but real simple for myself.

Keep the anti-Linux MS-FUD to a minimum.

Because I can laugh at idiots like you who think you can tell others
what to do. Now, can you answer the question or are you too stupid to
read an article and understand it?

I read the article .. I liked the sarcastic comment about Linux. Yes, why
should a university or a government be trapped into using Linux? The are
free to choose what they want and they chose Microsoft. And if they want
Microsoft stuff .. great .. they save money in the long term because
UNIX/Linux tech/support staff cost more. Besides, Server 2008 is the best
server OS available to date.

Tax was used to buy the crappy MS software. The tax payer was not
consulted. Hence, the understandable anger.

Tax payers generally elect representatives who are charged with the
responsiblity of conferring with each other and their staff and making
decisions that way. Individual citizens are rarely consulted about purchases
etc. etc.

I feel badly for the young hungrian man who threw the eggs - that he is such
an estranged individual. Fortunately, no harm was done and his fellow
students and Ballmer just kindly laughed it off. Also fortunately,
governments, universities and other institutions are generally free to
procure the computer systems they want and are not legislated into buying
what they don't want. A few years ago there was a move on to force people to
use Linux .. thankfully it seems to have died out. One of the universities
here in town uses two systems: one Microsoft, one not [and neither Linux].
They built what they wanted and were not forced to use Linux by some
oppressive law.

In theory, they are elected to not spend money foolishly and Linux/Open
Office would have been the cheaper choice than Vista/MS Office. And,
considering that MS crap is the past and Linux is the future, it would
have been better to choose Linux and be considerate of the students'
future. My only regret is that I wasn't there to throw a few eggs myself.

Of course, Microshaft has a bit more bullying power than the students do
so the government naturally went with them.

Yeah, and Bush decided to give the terrorists a big gift when he
attacked Iraq but that doesn't mean it was a wise decision. Hugo Chavez
thinks it's great, now that he can sell his oil for so much and use the
money to influence the Western Hemisphere. You do know that the
Hungarian government has to stand for election again, don't you?

So if the people know that the Government chose a Windows solution over a

The only one who won't vote for them is the guy who threw the egg.  He is in

The government didn't spend money foolishly, they made the right choice by
going with Microsoft products.  Better to prepare the students to use what
is out there in the real world then to force them to use a TOY OS like Linux
and OpenSores Office.  That would set the students back about 10 years.

Of course your regret is that you wern't there to throw eggs, because that
is how you solve issues.  Violence and bullying.  That is the way you
operate.  No wonder you use Ubuntu.  Your reasoning and thought processes
are in question.

I'm sure Microsoft didn't bully the government, they just made the right
choice.

You know Alias, sometimes I'm ashamed to admit I'm an American
considering how dumb many of my fellow countrymen and politicians are.
Take the high price of gasoline. The bimbo in the pants suit wants to
freeze the federal fuel tax. Oh wow, whoopee. She doesn't explain how
then our roads and bridges which benefit from that tax will be kept
up. As far as consumption, most estimates show Americans take up a
whopping 25% of oil resources yet as a population Americans represent
only 3% of the world. Of course the problem in part is morons running
around in SUVs and other gas guzzlers. I'm driving a Prius and getting
over 50 MPG, and loving it. ;-)

It looks like recession isn't the word but Depression the way things are
going in the States. People in the States have to get up off their fat
a.ses and walk to the store! Carry the groceries back. No high priced
gas needed. Spain had a 35 Billion surplus last year. But we have plenty
of nuclear plants and energy efficient cars have been the norm for
decades. We also walk to the grocery/drug/whatever store rather than
take the care. Public transport is good. In the States, it's anywhere
from bad to outright dangerous to take public transport.

Course, the car companies, oil companies, tire companies, et al dreamed
up the "suburbs" which, sadly, seems to be catching on here.

You walk to the store because you can't afford transportation.  We're doing

Didn't seem like his bodyguards did anything to protect old Stevie

Did you notice the reaction of the others in the room? It's pretty

Well fool, I'm not a Linux anything. Your crystal ball must be broken.

You also need to work on your reading comprehension. I wasn't saying a

typical Microsoft Vista user is plenty pissed-off at Microsoft and

My reading comprehension is just fine, thank-you. What you originally

My apologies. I try to communicate at a level so even the dolts and
mental midgets that hang out here can partially comprehend what I'm
saying. Seems I need to dumb down my posts even more so you have a
better chance of understanding every fifth word or so. Good luck.

So you need to dumb it down for yourself?  Just FYI.  Maybe you should print
out the posts and take them to a translator and they can help you understand
the concepts and questions posted here.  Just FYI.

Did I happen to say Just FYI?

So that really was the best you could do, eh? Pretty sad. Perhaps you
need to consider a new hobby, your efforts here are definately not up
to par.

Maybe you should try being a bit more concise (and truthful) instead
of making sweeping statements claiming to know "how the typical
citizen of the world feels" and then later claiming you meant "the
typical Vista user" when it's shown that you were wrong as usual.
Especially when your definition of the "typical Vista user" is a lone
lunatic that is immediately shunned by his peers.

Here's a clue for you...  instead of trying to "dumb down", try
"smarting up". It will help the average user on this group to
comprehend what you're saying and have the added benefit of keeping
you from looking like such a dolt when your BS is exposed.

Oh, and it's OK, you don't have to thank me for the advice... call it
a public service.  :-)
