Since adding a few of the obnoxious children to my blocked senders list,
this newsgroup has become a FAR nicer place to be.
I thought it would be helpful for us all to pool our blocked senders lists,
and make them available to people who join the newsgroup. That way we
adults could get on with discussing Vista in a helpful and constructive way,
and the stupid kids would be both unheard and unseen. What bliss!
On the other hand, this approach would just signal everyone on the published
list to change their "From" field, and thus annoy get around our efforts for
a quiet life.
Can anyone suggest a solution?

Good idea. The list would have to be updated occasionally. Someone would
have to volunteer who is reasonable and dedicated.
I have a feature request: that Windows Mail/News could import a block
senders list. That way one could avoid having to manually update.

sorry frank da poo, I can make serious discussion about vista if I wish,
you however are vista-clueless, computer-clueless and a moron in general.
You have nothing of value, of interest to say.. not even something
irrelevant and funny.
You are just plain stupid.

I've been booting your ignorant a.s all over this ng from the start.
Let's not forget, you're the incompetent fool who can't get his one
little install of Vista to run properly.
You're nothing but a big mouth loser!

Frank is very proud about how stupid he's perceived to be. Making a
fool of himself here is his life.

Yeah, get your support from a moderated forum, not Usenet. Or, gasp!,
you could use self control and not read Spanky and Frank's disgusting posts.

Or just block them and any other troll one comes across.
I find just a few blocked can really clear up the experience of mpwvg. If
one uses the Microsoft servers direct, Microsoft already does some cleaning
up of the postings, so much of the SPAM and obscene trolling is dropped
before it even gets to one's newsreader. For the rest, well, block 'em.

Use a newsreader that allows scoring on more than just the 'From' field ?
