I just bought a compaq laptop in which non English(Italia) vista home
primium pre loaded,can I make a dual boot with window xp English ?

Dual-booting is language-independent. For adding XP to a pre-existing
Vista installation, these websites will help:

Be aware that Vista and XP will conflict in their restore points,
so you should back up your data frequently and not rely on restore
points. Or... use a 3rd-party multi-boot manager that can hide
an OS's partition from other OSes.
