HELP: Can't log in: "User Profile Service service failed the logon"

I can't log in with my administrator account anymore.  I get the
message "User Profile Service service failed the logon".  I can still
log in with the limited users though.  WTF is going on?  Vista is
really pissing me off now.

That is a useful article, I've fixed the problem now.

So what is the point of the registry key under the ProfileList that
ends in ".bak" (it has the ProfileImagePath set to C:\Users\TEMP)?
Can I delete that?  Can I also delete the C:\Users\TEMP folder?
