restore it. I have Vista Home Premium. I have tried restore function, Virus
software, removed virus software. safemode to no success. any ideas other
than using a distructive restore and erasing all downloaded programs?

Set Explorer to show hidden files in the Options, Locate a file in the root
called: $Recycle.bin.  Delete this file. Restart.

Try to ERASE from a command prompt. Erase is similar to delete but
based on old DOS syntax.

If you don't know how to use Command prompt bring up the window then
simply type help. This will list the commands you can use.

The two you'll probably need is CD to change directory to where the
file is and ERASE to actually get rid of it.

The syntax would be 'erase myfile.txt' where you replace what's inside
the quotes with whatever the name of the file you want to delete
proceeded by the command erase. Do not type the quote marks. Do have a
single space between the command erase and whatever the full file name
is.
