Hello, I recently installed Virtual PC 2007 on my vista ultimate dell.  After
restarting my computer, the boot screen goes normally untill the part where
it shows the windows boot screen.  Instead of the regular screen, it shows a
message saying windows could not be started because it could not read the
boot configuration data in \BCD\Boot.  Of course, I can't find my vista
install disc so I downloaded the WAIK on my other computer and made a
bootable flash drive.  After trying that on my broken computer, I
successfully boot into the WAIK on the flash drive.  From there I get a cmd
window but I'm unable to access many of the things I need to fix drive C:
For example, I enter cd C:\ and bootcfg but it says "cannot access boot".
I'm really stuck here so I would be very greatful for any help.

If BootRec can't see the install, I don't think you are going to recover the
image.
How to use the Bootrec.exe tool in the Windows Recovery Environment to

How can I access bootrec from the WAIK boot cmd?  The command line starts out
at "X:\Windows\System32\" and if I enter bootrec.exe it says file not found.
I'm sure there must be a way to access drive C: without booting into it.  If
it can be done with the vista disc, there must be another way.
