Set up correctly Vista has no equal in searching.

Geez, that was funny Frank.

The truth is Vista is annoyingly slow at doing any kind of advance
search. More so if attempting to search within files. It can take
forever. Frank should start a search for his brain. Its been missing a
long time.

But people are still waiting for the correct settings from Microsoft.
Almost everyone uses Vista OEM, no support.

Just for the heck of it a couple weeks ago I did a in-file search of
my entire system comprised of almost 5 TB worth of data looking for
the phrase "investing" knowing it appears in many documents,
spreadsheets and notes. It took 28 minutes 14 seconds for Vista to
finish. During that time the goofy top of the window "progress" bar
seen in Advanced Search went all the way from extreme left to extreme
right hundreds of times.

Why do you feel threatened by a OS that has a minority position on
market share?

Who feels threatened by a crappy OS (Ubuntu)?  I am just amazed that people
try to push crap like Ubuntu here in the vista group.  Nobody wants it.

Wow, you now pretend to speak for everybody. Wow, I'm impressed, where
did you obtain such powers?

I think they are worried about it's growing market share with the likes of
Eee PC and others.

I don't believe I ever said that. If you can prove otherwise, I'd
appreciate seeing the citation. Please stop putting words into other folks
mouths.

it's simple really, it's just another example of Frank running his mouth,
without having a clue what he's actually saying and without being able to
back up a single word.

iow, he just likes to hear himself talk...
either that or mom's at work again today.

Really? You're projecting again ray. I'm not into gaming and I have no
games on any of my personal computers.
Sorry!

From the tone of the post, I assumed you were quite excited. Either
because you were an avid gamer or because you finally found SOMETHING that
vista can do.
