I have XP Sp2 , without any domain, just workgroup at home.
I can't get to the login screen, I just see the XP logo and I tried the "f8"
and start in last good and safe mode and still get stuck and don't see the
"login" screen
I tried using the orignal XP CD and boot into recovery mode, but I can't see
to give it the proper pwd for the administrator account...
I used the ERD disk ,but the system restore is like 24 months old, and I'm
heistate to do it...
I can access everything via the ERD, but don't kow how to fix XP so it will
boot to the login screen....
Any other optons that I can try....
thx in advance

IF you can get to f8 try the "last known good config" sounds like your
registry is corrupt or your boot.ini file is missing or corupt, shame on you
for not doing a back up or restore point in 2 yrs, shame shame shame!!
