Hello. I had to do a clean install of XP Home. I reformatted the drive, all
seems well but i cannot connect to the net. I cannot even activate windows.
There is a second computer attached to the router and it works fine. That
would mean the problem is somewhere in the network settings.  Probably
something simple. One thing, on the functioning pc the is a connection
"internet gateway" that I cannot seem to duplicate on the second computer.
Thanks for any help, paul

I had the same experience with my Gateway FX530.
My carrier (Road Runner) informed me that they do not recognise my
connection to their network. My other laptop PC with Linksys router is
working fine.
In the process of reinstalling XP Pro I also lost drivers for some PCI
devices. You can look under Device Mgr. to see if you have the same
situation.

If you find solution to your problem, please let me know.
Regards, Lyman
