I've just bought a new PC with XP on it - and would like
to disable the welcome screen that comes up after starting
the PC. I'm the only user so there's only one account so I
find this page a bit of a pain - I'd rather switch on and
go straight to the desktop. Anyone got some clues on how
to do this. Thanks

Make sure your password is turned off and your guest
account is turned off..if that don't work, check to see
if you have a 3rd account call ASP.NET, if you do that my
be whats causing it. It was put in when you did the
update called ,Microsoft.NET Frmaework version 1.1,you
need to get rid of this update. It's not something the
normal PC user Like you or I would needed or would use.I
had the same problem.
