I am suddenly unable to open OE on my Windows XP. I am
prompted for my user name and password, which is already
typed in, and even if I click ok, it doesn't work. I
cannot send nor receive email.
Error message:
"There was a problem loggin onto your mail server. Your
password was rejected. Account: POP-
server.nycap.rr.com',server:POP-
server.nycap.rr.com',Protocol:POP3, Server Response:'-ERR
Authentication Failed. Port:110,Secure (SSL);No, Server
Error:0x800CCC90, Error Number 0x800CCC92.

Help!
Thanks
Heather

First, trying typing in your user name and password manually just to be sure
as sometimes the saved versions become corrupted.

If you still get the message and you are sure the ID and password are
correct, let this wait a day as it might be an issue with your ISP as the
error message you are receiving is common when the e-mail server goes down.

If after a day or so, it is still not working, try using System Restore to
take you back to a time when it did work.  Start\All
Programs\Accessories\System Tools\System Restore.

You are right, all I had to do was retype in my user name
and password. I was retyping just my password. Thank you
so much for your help! I really appreciate it!
